Scaffolding Model This was an outrageous commission: To create a scale working "Tradesmans Model" of a scaffolding system. This image is of the initial segment which measures approximately 5 feet wide by 2 feet deep. We needed to create a bronze model of a scaffolding system the be taken to Trade Shows in two anchor cases and be assembled on site in any desired form by the same men that construct them in full scale. This image depicts the actual scale of the initial segment. I real life each vertical is approximately 7 1/2 feet apart. The Walking Planks and Stair Treads were stamped in our hydraulic press with our custom patterned die. After this initial production the system was expanded to include out-rigger pannels and two lane road crossovers. |

The Rondel The rondel is the key (no pun intended) to the system. Requiring the precision to allow numerous struts to lock into exacting position to build the structure; The wedge pin must snap lock each strut in place. The Scaffolding Project was expanded to include additional towers, outrigger planks and over two-lane road walkways Scaffolding Prototype This was the pre-production prototype |
